The sacred places were carefully chosen places because they were to be like a community pantry that could feed a large number of people for several days, game nurseries where subsistence was possible, where there was fish, hare, moose or caribou and where the geese were expected. A resting place sheltered from the wind where there was an abundance of firewood.
